How to choose a research peptide supplier

The research peptide market has real quality problems. Most of them are visible in advance if you know what to look for.

Independent testing, per batch

Ask who tests the product and whether a Certificate of Analysis exists for the specific batch you would receive. A supplier that tests in-house, or that offers one generic certificate per product, is asking you to take its word. Independent third-party testing with per-batch certificates is the standard to look for.

Traceability to the vial

The batch number should be on the vial, not just the box, and it should match the certificate. A QR code linking the vial to its COA is a good sign that the supplier expects you to check.

Technical documentation

A serious supplier publishes the CAS number, molecular formula, molar weight, sequence, classification, appearance, solubility and storage guidance for each compound, with references to the primary literature. A listing that offers a name and a price and little else is a warning.

Company transparency

Who is the legal entity behind the site? A UK supplier should state its registered company name and number, which you can check at Companies House, and a registered office address. Anonymous sellers cannot be held to anything.

Honest classification

Read how the supplier talks about its products. Research-use-only stated consistently — on the site, the label and the invoice — with no claims about effects in people, is what compliance looks like. Sellers that describe benefits, suggest doses or discuss human results are selling something other than research materials, whatever the disclaimer says, and are exposing their customers to the same risk they are running themselves.

UK dispatch and clear terms

Dispatch from within the UK avoids import delays and customs uncertainty. Clear terms on delivery, a defective-product policy and a way to reach a real person are the practical signs of a supplier that intends to be around next year.
